If it’s your property can you go hunting/boating/fishing without having to get your licenses and permits?

I don’t hunt, my granparents own a property on a lake, but they don’t own the lake as there are many houses around it. However, I was just kind of wondering to myself if someone owns a huge lot of property do they have to get a license to fish, or operate a boat or a permit to go hunting or can they do whatever since it’s their property?
This is purely me wondering btw, my family has all our licenses and permits so don’t get preachy =]
